Donna joined Aletta Shaw in 2024 having worked locally for the previous 10 years. 

She qualified as a lawyer in 1984 having trained in Soho. She has been a specialist family lawyer since the early 1990’s. 

Donna brings with her a wealth of experience and expertise in family law having worked both locally and for leading London firms, at which she was both a Partner and Head of the Family Team. 

She deals with all aspects of family law including divorce but specialises in resolving financial issues when a relationship ends. She has considerable experience of more complex family cases such as when family members have joined the financial proceedings of a divorcing couple asserting that they have a financial interest in matrimonial property.  This is an all-too-common issue, particularly in London and the South-East where property prices are high and young couples often rely on family support to take the first step on to the property ladder. 

Donna has also developed a particular specialism in cohabitation agreements and pre- and post-nuptial agreements, thus enabling couples to consider and formalise their financial arrangements at the outset of a relationship or marriage so that in the event of a future separation, both parties know where they stand and can avoid conflict. 

Donna is a member of Resolution and therefore follows their Code of Practice promoting an ethos of resolving family matters in as constructive and least confrontational way as possible and supporting her clients to focus on the potential impact of the relationship breakdown on their children.
